I haven't blogged since a few days ago.. woops! It's been a whirlwind, especially this past weekend. Thankfully, I had Friday off and was able to run a bunch of errands, including purchasing my flowers. Last Wednesday, I got a call from the bridal salon and was told my dress arrived early. *WHEW! YAY!* So glad it came a week earlier, so I wouldn't have to rush the whole alterations process. I went for my 1st fitting on Saturday and thankfully, the dress fits! *Whew, again!* I brought my dad along and he said "it fits nice." Yay, got his stamp of approval! So glad that I didn't need too many alterations done. I got into a fun conversation with the attendant on the alterations floor, Emily. She is getting married this August, so we started sharing our engagement stories and the whole planning process. It was a fun conversation, all while the seamstress was going up and down and on her knees, pinning away at my dress. What a tough little old lady! And a sweet one too! She was trying to figure out the best bustle for my dress, and after a couple attempts, we found one that I liked best. And thankfully, my MOH's won't have to worry about too many bustles; I made sure to ask for a simple one!
Saturday evening, Jon and I went to watch "The Last Airbender" which is based on an old anime cartoon. Jon's the anime fan and he asked me to watch it with him; I'm not a fan, but I figure it's only fair since he gets dragged around shopping with me! It was a pretty good movie, although somewhere towards the end, I fell asleep! I really think it was because I ran around all day doing errands, and NOT because the movie was boring, REALLY!!!
Yesterday, which was Monday, we decided to scout our possible location for photos, Brickworks. We didn't want to be caught in rush hour traffic, on the DVP let alone, so we made an impromptu stop to check out the place. After strolling the grounds, walking up a ton of stairs, and getting bit from a few bugs, we decided we didn't like this place so much! The photos that I've seen taken here have been beautiful indeed, but I'll pass on the bugbites, thanks!

Day 23
Another late post, woops! Yesterday was Canada Day and since it was a holiday, we decided to take a break from doing anything wedding! So, we went strawberry picking! Lotsa fun, except for the squashed strawberry stains on my pants! That's ok, today's post back and leg pain was worth it! Who knew strawberry picking can be real workout?! We left with 2 baskets of fresh-picked strawberries (fyi, my pickings were better than Jon's,hehe!), freshly baked strawberry pie and chocolate chip cookies from the farm's bakery...YUM!!!

Day 25
Over the last two evenings, I've been browsing our musician's website, listening to all sorts of wedding music. My ears are ringing with the sound of organs, strings, trumpets blaring! Which song to choose for processional, recessional, etc?!? All these songs are starting to sound the same to me!
We went for our menu tasting today and we were blown away with the impressive food and service! We left with our tummies full and big smiles on our faces. Too bad we couldn't take the chef home with us. We are so pleased with our choice of venue! Yay for Oliver & Bonacini!

Day 28
We were watching a bit of World Cup this morning, Uruguay vs. South Korea, and I began to ponder the idea of honeymooning in Africa (where the games are held), since we haven't finalized any honeymoon plans because we can't seem to decide where to go. So I brought it up:
Jackie: "Hunny, want to go to Africa for our honeymoon?"
Jon: "WHY?"
Jackie: Why NOT?
Jon: "What's there to do?"
Jackie: "I dunno, go on a safari, see all the wild animals!"
Jon: "So we can be eaten by a cheetah??"
Jackie: *rolls eyes and sighs* "Never mind. You watch too much TV."
Jon: "We can catch malaria."
Jackie: "You can catch malaria in many places around the world."
Jon: "Yeah, and you want to go where we have a higher chance of catching it?"
Jackie: *shakes head* "Fine, never mind!"

Day 29
So I purchased my wedding shoes the other day. And who doesn't love shoe shopping?! Unless your name is Jon and is always seeking a free seat on the bench. After reading countless wedding magazines, I noticed that the trend nowadays is for brides to wear these super high heels in bold colours. I liked how it looked, and thought maybe I'll don a pair myself for the wedding. But after trying on my dress the other day, I realize that you can't even SEE the shoes! So I figure, why go through the pain of wearing skyscraper heels (ALL day, if I might add) if you can't even show 'em off! Plus, every time I tried on a pair and turned to Jon for his opinion, for some reason, he would appear somewhat self-conscious and suddenly stand up straight... and under his breath, I could hear "I'm still taller..." Sure hunny, yes you are...even though I'm staring at the top of your forehead.
So I forgoe'd the 4 inch heels for something much more comfortable. And Jon can still stand up straight and not have to stare at my chin!

Day 30
Thirty more days until I become a missus... wowee!!! I'm likin' the sound of that! So much excitement, and so much more to do: figuring out favours, seating charts, getting our marriage licence... perhaps we should get moving on that last one, huh?!
By the way, welcome to my last minute blog! Where I'll document all that needs to be done in the next month, and who I can delegate to do it! :oP
More to come in the days ahead... for now, I'm off to bed... nighty night!
